For years, enterprise AI was about intelligence: prediction, classification, recommendation. The shift now underway is toward agency, where a system is given an objective, breaks the work down, and acts across your infrastructure to complete it. Large AI models can now hold complex specifications in context, interpret rules written in plain language, and produce structured output reliable enough to drive transactional systems.
That capability is real, but capability alone does not survive contact with production.
